Missouri-based Electrical Components International (ECI), a supplier of electrical distribution systems, control box assemblies, and other engineered components, recently purchased Lehigh Valley-based Britech. Pin Insulator
Britech is a specialty manufacturer of cable assemblies, box builds, and wire harnesses serving the semiconductor industry and the HVAC and related industrial technology end markets.
ECI’s scale and engineering capabilities will allow Britech to expand its presence in the global semiconductor market and support the ongoing capacity buildout in the United States, ECI said.
“For more than 30 years, Britech’s broad range of capabilities and consistent, solutions-oriented approach to specialty manufacturing has helped us develop strong customer relationships,” the Britech board of directors said. “With our tremendous growth over the years, the opportunity to join forces with a world-class player like ECI represents an exciting next chapter for Britech. Together, we will be able to deepen our partnership and scale with existing customers while strategically growing our offerings across other markets.”
Britech will maintain its management team and continue operating out of its 50,000-square-foot facility in Allentown, located a mile from Lehigh Valley International airport.
ECI, a portfolio company of investor Cerberus Capital Management, has 25,000 employees at 37 global manufacturing locations.
