Doctors responded and treated three people who were involved in the incident.
One of the patients died Sunday evening.
The other two patients were treated and released.
"While we have every indication this was a tragic accident, we are conducting a thorough investigation to learn exactly how this occurred," the hospital said in a statement.
The valet golf carts transport patients and visitors to and from the parking decks.
